Sunday morning Adult Classes

We currently have two Adult Classes which meet from 9:45-10:45.  They are a great way to study the Bible together and share our journey as followers of Christ.
  • The Story of the Bible Pt 2, in Rm 103.
  • Our middle aged class is led by Nelson Perkins in Rm 104.
  • Additional classes and electives are offered at different times of the year.

The Story of the Bible

The Bible is an amazing book. But have you ever read a passage of the Bible and wondered, what on earth does that mean?!  Or wondered, of all the things it could say, why was this so important?  Or, how do all the books and parts of the Bible fit together?

This class will trace the story of the Bible and help you understand the flow of the plot-line through the centuries it was written.  It will help you grasp how the different parts of Scripture fit together.   And it will also give you “handles” so that you can better understand the central message behind the different sections of the Bible, giving you more insight and understanding as you read it.   This class is in two parts, and the first part will run for (about) eight weeks.  It will be taught by Pastor Ron.

  • September 18th through November
  • Sunday mornings, from 9:45 to 10:45 am
  • Room 103 (off Sanctuary).

Wednesday Evening Bible Study 6:00 pm:    In the Wednesday evening Bible study, we go through a book of the Bible and discuss it together chapter by chapter.  It is a great place to talk about what the Bible actually says.  Everyone is welcome to attend this class.   This class meets at the church in Rm 103, and Nelson Perkins leads this class.    Currently they are looking at the book of Job.

Small Groups and Other Ministries & Events

At CrossPointe, we believe that people grow better in circles than they do in rows.  We are in the beginning stages of building a spectrum of groups and ministries addressing different life issues where we can grow in our relationship with Jesus and one another.  This fall we will be offering several different small groups which will meet in homes during the week.   For more information, contact Pastor Ron (office:  772-3214).

The End of Me

Hearing God.  Having the Guts to Respond

January thru February – Thursday evenings

The End of Me is a series which illustrates the truths Jesus taught in Matthew 5 in His well known Sermon on the Mount.  It illustrates four truths through the stories of people who discovered that we are broken to be whole, mourn to be happy, empty to be filled, and authentic to become accepted.  As Kyle Idelman puts it:  Have you ever come to the end of yourself? Maybe it was that day when your life changed forever. The day that your house was foreclosed on, you discovered your spouse was having an affair, or you were told you only had months to live. In those moments, all the plans, dreams and ambitions you had for yourself came to a crashing halt. And you discover that all you have left is Jesus.

In The End of Me, Kyle Idleman explores these difficult moments by looking at four of the beattitudes from the Sermon on the Mount.  In this series, we’ll look at real-life examples of people who have lived the upside-down life that Jesus describes. Only when you come to the end of yourself will you begin to be transformed into the whole, blessed person God made you to be.
  • Every other Thursday evening:   September 27th, Oct. 13th, 27th, and November 10th.
  • 7:00 – 8:30 pm
  • At the Thiessen’s home.
  • If you would like to be part of this group, contact Pastor Ron (Office 772-3214).

Opportunities for 20s-30s

We are excited to see a growing group in this age group at Zion.

Some are single, some are married, some are married with kids, and some are single-again.    We want to lay a foundation in the lives of adults that will help them grow spiritually, strengthening their lives, relationships, marriages and families in good, healthy, and sustaining ways.   We are looking forward to what God is going to do!
  • Small Group: We have a small group which meets on alternating Thursday evenings.   We will be planning more small groups to connect people together in their journey of life in Christ.
  • Events: We have events to help 20s & 30s build relationships with each other and celebrate life together as people who share faith in Christ.
For more information contact Pastor Ron (office:  772-3214)

  • If:  Weatherford.  If God is real, then we want more than anything to live like it!   We want to be a part of this epic story, even if its in the smallest of ways.  Every one of our souls aches to be a part of something bigger.  We just have to remember, we already are.  This is a 2-day women’s event with well-renowned speakers via simulcast with live worship.   If exists to gather, equip and unleash the next generation of women to live out their purpose.  We want to meet women who are already having an impact in their churches, neighborhoods, and homes.  We want to resource them, give them what they need to come around tables and to eat together, to dream together, and to hope together, and to lift each other’s head, and to remember the story we are all a part of.

    • February 5th & 6th, First Baptist Church.   Registration will be in January.  Please see Beth Thiessen if interested.
    • Cost: $20 which included dinner Friday night and breakfast Sat. morning. Childcare is not provided.

  • Women’s Circles:  The women of Zion are divided up into three “circles” that help when there is a fellowship potluck, a funeral luncheon, or other events where the help of the church is especially appreciated.

Worship Team

If you have musical ability and like to lead others in Worship, our Worship Team rehearses on Tuesday evenings at 6:00 pm.  We rehearse again at 9:00 am on Sunday morning.  If you would like to be part of leading our church family in worship, contact Pastor Ron, the Church Office, or talk to a Worship Team member (Office 772-3214).

Zion Prayer Team

There are prayers that God loves to answer, and one is that people in all places come to know and love Him with all their hearts.   As a church we want to passionately seek God for His presence and work in and through all the ministries of our church.  And we look forward to seeing how God is going to answer our prayers!   The CrossPointe Prayer team is for those who will commit themselves to pray for the ministries of CrossPointe and this community.   They commit to the following:

  • Pray daily in my personal life for the ministries of CrossPointe Church and God’s work in and through this body of believers.
  • For four months: from September through December.
  • To meet together as they are able to pray for our Church.
If you would like to be part of the CrossPointe Prayer Team please talk to Pastor Ron (Office: 580-772-3214).
